New Work

I'm really having a hard time finding a focused path I can follow with my work. I keep doing mini shoots after being inspired and feeling like my concepts won't go any further than a few photos before I feel like I can't expand on the series. Hopefully one of these ideas will stick!

My next few projects:

Taking photos about my science interests and childhood

Doing a series on the collections I had as a child

Telling a story in photos

Doing something on social interactions and my struggles with large groups

Continue to see what I can do with incomplete images and silhouettes.

Light Painting Inspiration

I love this kind of light painting. It doesn't look like the typical light painting people do for fun, and I love the background of the photo as well.

EIEIO Photography

I'm so excited this semester to have the opportunity this semester to be working with Chelse from EIEIO Photography. She does family, children, boudoir and wedding photography and her work is amazing.

I'm able to help her with album design and marketing and anything else she needs while learning a lot about the business side of photography.

Weekly Photos

One of my new year’s resolutions is to take at least one nice photo a week outside of my course work. I don’t care if it’s particularly meaningful, I just want to make sure I keep taking pictures and playing around with my new gear. My plan for the future is to keep up this blog every week with that photo, but I’m a little behind this month. This post is just a bunch of random shots I’ve taken this month. I have a feeling there will be a lot of cats featured in these weekly photos...

Artist Inspiration

Katie Kukulka is a fine art photographer that uses more traditional methods of photography. Her work can be found here: http://www.katiekukulka.com/#a=0&at=0&mi=2&pt=1&pi=10000&s=0&p=0

It's ethereal and dream-like quality coupled with the medium she uses makes it seems like a treasure unburied from an attic somewhere. You don't know fully what is going on, and it's like sifting through old memories to try to figure it out.
